Looking for a quick, insightful way to assess how well your manufacturing operations are performing?

Take this short quiz to discover where your processes stand and where a new solution could make a difference. It only takes a few minutes, but it may change the way you look at your shop floor forever.

Ask yourself and consider each question. Then answer “yes” or “no”.

process control – creating production plans

Are your production build plans accurate, detailed and complete?   Y / N

If not, consider that you can easily add digital work instructions, training materials, visuals, and other resources to help operators perform consistently.

production control – releasing orders

Can all orders be released without needing meetings or verbal explanations?   Y / N

If not, think about having new orders released automatically with verified bills of materials (BOMs) and clear operator-centric build plans.

production – building products to meet demand

Do staff members receive only their assigned, prioritized work items without searching for instructions or materials?   Y / N

If not, it is easy for digital materials to be specifically tailored for each staff member or work center.

scheduling – meeting deadlines

Are your production schedules accurate and do you consistently ship on time?   Y / N

If not, a real-time scheduler that alerts you to potential delays would help you stay ahead of customer expectations and better manage ship dates.

quality control – managing quality checks

Are you fully satisfied with your production quality and error rates?   Y / N

If not, think about minimizing production pauses and rework through built-in digital checks, validations and automated processes.

inventory control – managing materials

Are your inventory records accurate and up to date?   Y / N

If not, you may still be carrying excess inventory to prevent shortages and handle rush orders.

tooling – managing equipment and calibration

Are your tooling records accurate and complete?   Y / N

If not, consider automated validation and calibration tracking to reduce downtime.

maintenance – scheduling machine maintenance

Do you have accurate, proactive maintenance schedules for every machine tool?   Y / N

If not, you may value having automated machine tracking to prevent unplanned downtime and lost productivity.

analytics – capturing operational trends

Do you have complete, accurate records of all past work activities?   Y / N

If not, you're missing the value of records to analyze and identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Consider if you have these additional system features:

  • Administration – Manage system user activities, permissions, and logins securely.
  • Work Centers – Model your unique production processes.
  • Imports – Efficiently move historical data records into an archive for future use.
  • Settings – Personalize your system to fit your team’s workflow.

5-7 “Yes” answers: You’ll save more than you spend year over year

You’re already doing plenty right, but there are still bottlenecks, manual steps, or missing connections between data and action. Implementing a system like Quantum can pay for itself quickly by eliminating rework, downtime, and inefficiencies that add up daily.

Less than 5 “yes” answers: You’ll see positive revenue and profitability quickly

Your current systems (or lack thereof) may be holding you back. Incomplete visibility, manual tracking, and disconnected data cost more than they appear. By digitizing your shop floor with a system like Quantum, you can eliminate waste, boost output, and balance your cost-to-value ratio almost immediately.

Every manufacturer faces challenges in efficiency, visibility, and control, but few take the time to measure them. This quiz gives you a quick snapshot of where your company stands today and how close you are to unlocking new improvements.
